“Kreative Milestones Behavioral Healthcare Services, LLC (KMBHS) exists to assist emotional individuals, families and communities reach their full potential by fortifying their mental and physical being through exploring creative ways to face challenging obstacles that life’s milestones present,” says Tina Washington, co-owner. Washington co-owns the agency with Cameo Harris. The pair brought their clinical social work and clinical psychology backgrounds together in 2016 to create a service that caters to the need of this specific population.
Kreative Milestones offers mental health skill-building services for adults, and intensive in-home services for children. Both Washington and Harris pride themselves on their differing services and being adaptable to what their clients need. “After years of working for other agencies and seeing how things could be done differently to ensure clients are given the best care, Cameo and I decided to start the process to create our own agency, offering mental health services in a different way,” Washington says. KMBHS wants its clients to receive the customized care needed to help guarantee wellness and a happy, healthy life.
With a caring commitment to their clients, the 15 KMBHS employees want the local community to know that they are here for them. “We welcome all walks of life. We also offer life coaching and help others figure out which paths to best navigate life,” says Washington, explaining their commitment to the community and the diversity of their services.
KMBHS not only cares about providing its clients the best possible care but also remaining professional while doing so. “We are a community-based mental health agency licensed to operate in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We adhere to all Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services regulations and maintain secure, confidential documentation of each client,” Washington says.
The most rewarding part of Washington’s job? “Seeing our clients graduate from services and live life to its fullest with the coping skills taught by our agency,” Washington says. With an agency philosophy that no one should suffer in silence and a goal to help people know who they are and why they think the way they do, the KMBHS team is dedicated to helping others. “All of our clients know they can always depend on us,” Washington says.
When Washington is not busy helping others at work, she enjoys being outside, enjoying nature.
Looking towards the future, KMBHS hopes to grow its services and locations. “We plan to expand, and it would be a huge goal to be able to provide services around the USA,” Washington says.
