I run because I love the open road for both problem solving and dreaming.
A misconception I think many people have about running is that you have to be at a certain level or run a certain amount to be considered a true “runner.” You are a runner if you run, that’s it!
The most important tool/gear for a runner is a good pair of shoes. However, don’t skimp on good socks. They’re worth every penny!
The greatest compliment I ever received was that I empower the people I work with, particularly women.
Something many people don’t know about me is I volunteered as an EMT for about a year while I was in college. From that experience, I decided the medical field wasn’t the right path for me.
I like to think of myself as open-minded. We can learn from everyone.
It’s Valentine’s month. my favorite sweet is Lindt chocolates — so good!
Something that I enjoy doing outside of work is family vacations with my husband and our daughter. We love to travel and explore.
In my opinion, the best thing about Newport News is the shops in Hilton Village — such a quaint, cozy vibe with many new places!
Dining is always a delight when I visit Kismet! My husband and I go for date night, and I’ve spent many birthdays there. It’s warm and welcoming, and the food and drinks are always top notch.
My guilty pleasure is some type of a made-from-scratch dessert. My daughter likes to bake with me and we have an amazing single chocolate chip cookie that we like to share as a family.
My most treasured possession is a pair of earrings from my grandmother. I’m extremely grateful to still have her, and her steadfast encouragement and support in my life. Those earrings remind me of her and I think they bring me luck.
