When I awaken, the first thing I do in the morning is thank God for allowing me to see another day.
When I think of business in Newport News, the first thing that comes to mind is room for growth and opportunity.
My favorite thing to do on an especially cold day in this area is cuddling, simply staying inside under a warm blanket, watching movies and eating comfort food like chili.
Organizations of which I am an avid supporter are Woodside High School Track & Field, Technique Track Club, Peake Early Childhood Center, Legacy of Hope Foundation and our area public schools. I believe we have a responsibility to do whatever we can to support children.
Something most people probably don’t know about me is I work well with my hands and have a love for tinkering and fixing things.
The first step to making a more peaceful world is unity. We need to take a moment to talk with others, those who at first glance may appear different from us or who may seem to be “outside of our comfort zone.” We may find we have more commonalities than differences and as a community, we are stronger together than apart.
The person who has most influenced my life is my maternal grandmother.
I chose my career because I believe in servant leadership. I do not necessarily feel that I chose my career but that I was called to it.
When I leave a room full of people I just met, I hope they think of me as one who is genuine, cares about my faith, family, friends and community.
When I enter a room full of my friends, I hope they are reminded how much they mean to me. I am extremely grateful for genuine friendships that play a pivotal role in my life.
I finish each day by peeping in my children’s bedrooms and then taking a moment to sit in silence and simply decompress.
