Laura and Michelle moved to Cape Charles from Los Angeles. They share two dogs and three cats and maintain a healthy and calm lifestyle on the shore. While Laura is intuitive and friendly, her wife Michelle describes herself as innovative, creative and compassionate, making them the perfect team to bring this unique experience to Cape Charles.
In addition to operating Drizzles, Laura and Michelle enjoy reading; artwork, specifically abstract and resin art; hiking and exploring the Eastern Shore.

Their oils and vinegars vary in taste and popularity. Their favorites include blood orange olive oil and garlic cilantro balsamic, white balsamic, pomegranate balsamic and fig balsamic vinegars.
Drizzles displays artwork from local artists to create the ultimate experience for its customers. “In addition to our oils and vinegars, we sell sea salts and peppercorns from around the world, along with locally roasted coffee beans, kitchen and pantry household items, and art from local shore artisans. We want to create not only a tasting experience, but also a visual experience,” Laura says.
While there is no typical workday for the Drizzles’ entrepreneurs, Laura focuses on refilling the olive oils and vinegars and replenishing the salts and peppers, as well as ordering additional products. “We are always interested in promoting new products and growing our business,” she says.
Michelle is transitioning out of her corporate job and focusing more on the retail shop as well as making time to focus on her art, which she has been working on for more than 40 years. “Now I find that there is more of a balance between working on my art and exploring new mediums, as well as promoting Drizzles through various social media platforms,” Michelle says.
With plans to expand the business, Michelle is creating email campaigns for Facebook and Instagram to reach a larger audience. Although this is their first year owning Drizzles, the business is in its 11th year. “Customers have been coming to Drizzles for more than a decade,” Laura says, ”and are very loyal. With Michelle working on social media, we have been creating content that brings new customers in, while also offering a loyalty program for returning customers.”
With Cape Charles growing and expanding in population, more people are learning about the culinary etiquette that is ever present in this community. “I see Drizzles becoming a destination as the number one gourmet stop in Cape Charles. We would like Drizzles to be known for being available and consistent in providing the best,” Laura says.
Drizzles is open seven days a week during the summer, Through their innovative slogan, ‘Drizzle it, Taste it, Love it,’ both Laura and Michelle are always looking for new ways to bring life and a welcoming atmosphere to the shore of Cape Charles.
