Owner Tina White has been inspired by interior design since working in a high-end furniture store in 1988. “The job itself only required selling furniture, but I felt a need to ‘finish the job’ with the details — accessories, window treatments, wall coverings, artwork….” Since White’s employer didn’t offer interior design services, White returned to school and obtained her business license and has not looked back since.
“It became a passion. I had no idea that I would enjoy this career path, but I can’t imagine doing anything else,” says White about her journey to owning her own business and becoming an interior designer.
White sets important goals for each individual project that include creating a timeless interior, reflecting the personality and style for each client. According to White, there is no “typical” client when it comes to interior design. “My wonderful clients are quite diverse, and my projects range from a simple paint consultation to an out of town/state complete installation of interior décor,” she says. Serving clients from residential projects to commercial properties, Interior Visions, Inc. offers services that are licensed and insured to fulfill the style and functionality requirements for each individual.
“It’s important to me for my clients to realize that my recommendations have nothing to do with what I like. I need to know about them — their family, their hobbies, their lifestyles. I try to take that information and add a bit of spice to it to customize it for them. It’s a very personal profession,” White says about her process of creating spaces tailored to her clients.
“My gift is to deliver on the client’s preferences, even if they aren’t sure what their preferences are. I want every project to be an opportunity for uniqueness, functionality and beauty at the same time. I want them to be excited when they walk into a home that we created together,” White says. Designing a space that is inspired by each client is important to the entire Interior Visions team. However, the team is mindful of budgets and functionality needs. This mindfulness allows clients to have their objectives met while being proud of the new space.
Using this ideology, Interior Visions creates spaces for each individual design aesthetic, which has led the business to receive awards including Best in Show and Best Interior Designs and Furnishings at the 2014 Fall Home-A-Rama Waterside at Parkside. White and her team get most excited when their designs win any “people’s choice” awards. According to White, it is more important that the general public views her designs and likes that work enough to take the time to vote.
