“I love making people feel good. That’s what my business is all about,” says Cristina Mohajerin, owner of Oasis Salon.
Mohajerin opened her salon in 2008 with only six hairstylists and minimal space to practice their craft. Although the flexibility for new additions to the business was limited, that did not stop Mohajerin from chasing her dream of opening a bigger and more serviceable salon. Growing up in a family of several business owners, many who were hairdressers, this budding entrepreneur had a huge support system and familiarity with the art, She always knew she wanted to pursue hairstyling.
After six years, Mohajerin moved her business to a larger location, nearly doubling the size of the salon. With additional space and a growing clientele, she decided to begin offering nail services in addition to hair styling.
And now, her latest move has allowed her to fulfill her dream of offering a full-service salon. In her City Center location, Mohajerin is able to provide ultimate beauty needs for hair, makeup, nails, facials and massages. She is extremely pleased with this new location because of the constant events around City Center, encouraging more excitement and increased exposure. Mohajerin says, “I always knew I wanted to expand my business into more than just hair; I just needed the space to be able to do it.”
And now she happily can. With 21 staff members, there are multiple options for facials and massages, including classic facials, micro-dermal abrasion, massage therapy, prenatal massage, hot stones and much more. Mohajerin says, “I feel we currently have almost every beauty service available, and I am so pleased to offer these services to our current and new clientele.”
Mohajerin’s favorite part of her craft is giving haircuts. She says, “I love cutting. I feel like this is where my real passion lies within the business.”
Oasis Salon also offers hair and makeup services for weddings and big events. The stylists are available to provide services in the salon as well as on-site at the bride’s wedding venue depending on the location distance.
When Mohajerin is not working she can often be found hanging out with her family. She loves spending time with her children, especially with the arrival of her new grandson. And she especially enjoys relaxing at the beach.
Mohajerin says she will be focusing on the new aspects of the salon before looking too far into the future to add anything else. “Our everlasting goal is to always help enhance people’s beauty, however they see fit,” she says.
