Patti Moonis

Meet the Writer

Patti Moonis is a freelance writer and editor, currently ghostwriting a book about a woman’s health journey through leukemia and severe heart issues. She also works with the YouVersion Bible app, reviewing Bible plans before they go live on the app. Working with the Virginia Press Association, she serves as a judge in annual newspaper contests. She participates in two Bible study groups and volunteers with her church, leading engagement on the live online worship service every Sunday. She is mother to seven children, all grown.

My favorite writer: C.S. Lewis

My favorite book: The Desiderata by Max Ehrmann

When I have time for myself, I like to journal and read, and read some more.

I would like to travel to: Actually, I’d like to live in a small house on stilts on the oceanfront, with a covered deck and a porch swing where I can sit and listen to the water and watch the sunrise.

Three people I most admire:

1. My mother, Eleanor Colegrove Argo

2. My grandfather, Otto Zwingman

3. My children (That’s 7 people, oops.)

On my bucket list, I would like to

  1. Meet my bone marrow donor in person and give him a big thank-you hug for saving my life. We’ve met over FaceTime but not in real life. He lives in Germany.
  2. See and try to hug the giant Redwoods in California.
  3. See and hug the Rainbow Trees in Hawaii.
