Caroline Kelsick

Meet the Writer

Caroline is a writer and editor from Virginia Beach. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in professional and technical writing.

In my real life, this is what I do: I am a grant writer for the local Girl Scout Council and a freelance writer for a few neighborhood publications.

And this is what I do for fun: I mostly enjoy reading, creating new recipes, crocheting and learning about art history. I also love spending time with my family and friends.

My favorite writer: This is always changing and I cannot pick just one. I love Elena Ferrante, Joyce Carol Oates, Toni Morrison and Kurt Vonnegut.

My favorite book: This is always changing, too. Right now, it is the books in the Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante.

When I have time for myself, I like to try new coffees, see movies in theaters, go on a walk using my headphones, read a book and eat great food.

My favorite place I’ve traveled is Spain.

I would like to travel to Japan.

Three people I most admire:

  1. My mom
  2. My dad
  3. My sisters.

On my bucket list, I would like to

  1. Visit the Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya.
  2. Write a book or short story collection.
  3. Explore more of the U.S.
