PBMares, LLP, accounting and consulting firm, has expanded its footprint in North Carolina with the acquisition of the Wilmington, N.C., office of RSM US LLP (RSM). PBMares CPAs and Consultants is headquartered in Newport News, with offices across Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina. The addition continues PBMares’ expansion into North Carolina, which began in 2020 with the acquisition of RSM offices in Morehead City and New Bern. Harvey L. Raymond H. Suttle has joined the law firm of Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. in its Newport News office. Previously, Suttle was a partner at Jones, Blechman, Woltz & Kelly. He is well known in the business community and served on many boards, including the Newport News Bar Association, Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Oyster Point Rotary Club, Newport News Green Foundation, Peninsula Fine Arts Center and as a trustee for Hampton Roads Academy. Suttle received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor degree from the College of William & Mary Law School.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula launched technology-filled Innovation Labs at its Greater Hampton Roads Unit in Newport News and its Gloucester club. The labs were made possible by two $20,000 grants from Cox Communications. These labs are the cornerstone of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Club Tech program, providing students with access to curriculum to advance their computer literacy skills. The Innovation Labs also help bridge the digital divide for children without access to a computer or internet connection at home.
